Cancellation and Missed Appointment Policy

CNY Eye Care has implemented a new policy on cancellation of appointments. We have put this policy in place to be better able to provide individuals with medical care in a timely manner. No-shows and late cancellations inconvenience patients who need medical care preventing them from scheduling appointments in an appropriate amount of time. Appointments are in high demand and early cancellation will help make it possible for us to reschedule and provide timely medical care to all of our patients.

Therefore we ask that you be respectful of the medical needs of our other patients and cancel / reschedule your appointments in a timely manner.

The doctors and staff realize that it is easy to forget about appointments that were scheduled several weeks/months prior. Therefore as a courtesy we will give patients a reminder call 3 days prior to their scheduled appointment. If you would like this service check with our receptionist to make sure you are set up to receive our courtesy appointment reminder calls.

By Appointment Only

CNY Eye Care sees patients by appointment only. We make every effort to provide prompt medical care to all of our patients. If you arrive in our office as a walk-in, you will be asked to schedule an appointment for a different time. We will make every consideration for getting you an appointment in a timely manner.

Late Arrivals

We make every effort to maintain appointment time commitments and we request that you extend the same courtesy to us. When patients arrive late it causes delays to patients that are here on time. We understand that special circumstances can arise, which may cause you to run a few minutes behind. On occasion we are able to work “late arrivals” into the schedule, however this is at the discretion of our front desk staff. If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, we may ask you to reschedule your appointment to help prevent delays and extensive waiting times to our other patients.

Cancellation of Appointment

If it is necessary for you to cancel your scheduled appointment, we require that you call at least 24 hours in advance.

To Cancel or reschedule your appointment please call 315-445-1577 or 315-432-0555 during business hours. If it is afterhours you may leave a message with our answering service that you would like to reschedule your appointment. You may also cancel your appointment via your automated reminder call by following the prompts.  We will then call you to reschedule your appointment.

No Show Policy

A “no-show” is someone who misses an appointment without cancelling in a timely manner. Failure to be present at the time of your scheduled appointment or canceling/rescheduling within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment will be recorded in your medical record as a “no-show’.

The first no-show, as a courtesy the no-show fee will be waived and we will call and send a letter to follow up and schedule you with another appointment. If you fail to attend 2 appointments within 12 months your account will be charged a $35.00 no-show fee. This fee cannot be billed to your insurance company and will need to be paid prior to setting up another appointment. Repeated no shows could result in a discharge from the practice.

New Patients or Initial Appointment or Consultation.

If you no-show your initial consult or appointment and fail to contact our office, you will be charged the $35.00 no-show fee, we will not waive the fee
