Dr. Sveen
Dr. John Sveen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sveen provides comprehensive medical eye care and has a special interest in No-stitch, Small Incision Cataract Surgery. He has expertise in working with patients to select the best lens option to suit their postoperative visual goals including monofocal, toric, multifocal and extended depth of focus intraocular lenses. Dr. Sveen especially enjoys working in the office and spending time getting to know his patients and their interests in addition to providing general eye care.
He is a native of Upstate New York, and a graduate of Dartmouth College. He also spent a year studying at the University of Oslo. He completed his medical education and residency in Ophthalmology at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
Dr. Sveen has been practicing in Central New York since 1997. He is on staff at Crouse Hospital and SUNY Upstate Medical Center, where he holds a position as Clinical Instructor.
In his spare time, Dr. Sveen enjoys downhill and cross country skiing, running, boating, waterskiing, windsurfing and horseback riding. Mostly, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters.
