Dr. Shiomos

A native of Central New York, Dr. Shiomos has been providing comprehensive medical eye care in the area since 1994. He is a licensed therapeutic optometrist who is trained to diagnose and treat ocular diseases, including glaucoma and has an interest in contact lenses.

He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology.

Dr. Shiomos earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. He completed one of his three externships in specialty contact lenses with the Leahey Eye Clinic in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Dr. Shiomos is the current Secretary of the New York State Optometric Association (NYSOA) and in line to become the President in 2026 . He is a member of the Central New York Optometric Society, and the American and New York Optometric Associations. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association-Contact Lens and Cornea Section. Dr. Shiomos received the 2009 NYSOA Communications Award for the use of electronic newsletters as an effective way to communicate with members.
