Multifocal and Accommodating lens implants for Cataract Surgery

Multifocal Lens Impants: A multifocal lens, also known as a presbyopic lens, allows you to focus for both near and distance vision. These lenses offer patients to be glasses independent for most tasks but are not a guarantee that you will never need glasses again.These lenses are designed to split the light allowing you to see at different distances but you may sacrifice the quality of your vision at any particular distance.

  • Acrysof ReStor: this lens provides patients with near and distance vision but you may require glasses for intermediate vision.
  • AMO ReZoom: this lens provides patients with intermediate and distance vision but you may require reading glasses.
  • Accommodating Lens Implants: This lens can reduce or eliminate your dependence on glasses using the natural focusing ability of the eye. It is designed to allow the optic to move back and forth as you change forcus on images around you.
  • Eyeonics Crystalens: this lens provides patients with intermediate and distance vision but you may need glasses for near.
